Tomorrow morning (Oct. 21,2010) at 8:10am I will be doing an on air performance of one of my newest songs. I will also be doing an interview and talking about my show this weekend at the FuSE Festival here in Fresno, Ca. I will be performing at the Iron Bird Cafe at 9:30 pm. Lately I have been dedicating a lot of time to my first record. It is important for me to remember that a lot of the material that is going to be on the album might be a song written years ago and has to be presented with the same emotion that I had when I wrote it. I recently made a demo of 24 songs that would potentially go on the record. I then asked some friends and fans to listen to each and make me a list of the 12 strongest songs. I was very surprised as the list came in. This was a lot of fun! The first thing I know about being an artist is to trust your gutt. But sometimes it’s nice to have someone else’s objective opinion. Needless to say, the top songs met my personal list with the exception of one. I have to give that some thought but all in all this was the most productive thing I have ever done with my fans. It gave me a lot of great feedback too. Most of the listeners are not musicians and have a better ear for music than they think. Better yet, they are consumers! The people who have bought my music and will buy my music again and again. So thank you to all those who dedicated time to my little project and be looking for the special shout out! In the meantime I am moving forward to the next step. I am going over all my lyrics with a little fine tuning. Stay tuned for more album updates. Oh yeah, the #1 most voted song,….. MIRACLE WORKER!! Now here’s a band I dig…. Slick style + Great Tunes + Awesome Name = SHIVER FOX! The band is off to great things. In the fresno area they are already in rotation at 104.1 and 95.7. Shiver Fox and A Chick Fight
You can’t run because you’re too fat!” is all I heard being screamed by some obnoxious female voice. I heard a hit and turned just in time to her falling to the ground. I’m guessing she hit the bouncer and he pushed her down. She gets back up dazzled and starts yelling the same thing again. She goes to push the female bouncer and she slams the girl to ground. On the way down she hits her face on a concrete trash can. She get’s up and start yelling again. Everyone tells her to calm down. Someone makes a comment,.. “Go Play In The Street!” She takes off running across the street and everyone starts screaming. She nearly gets nailed by a car right in front of us all! Isn’t that ironic?
Moments later, two hot rods pull up with the stars of the show. Looking like rocks stars out of the seventies, Shiver Fox gets out carrying their guitars and yelling at the people standing in line outside to come in. (We were standing in line because it was over capacity at 10PM) They let about 15 people in stopped the line right at me! I could hear Shiver Fox rocking out inside but couldn’t see them. I waited about 30 Minutes more until they let me in. They were telling people as they left to smoke, “If you leave, then you have to go stand at the back of the line because we are at capacity.” I can’t believe how many people were leaving just for a cigarette. The place was very small and packed. The guitars were screaming loud! I made my way to the back where I watched the show from the back.
Great choreography, great image, great sound, great solos, great name! That sums everything up for being Fresno’s next big band to be discovered. What else could be better? Nothing really. The venue,.. Well that’s a different story. Great Job Shiver Fox!
I was pretty excited when I found out that my long time friend Nathan Dantzler was moving out here to Cali from Nashville. I also found it pretty cool that we both ended up in the same state. He left just in time. He left right before the floods came and filled up our beautiful city of Nashville Tn. I often miss living in that green, humid, but beautiful mountainous state. Cali rarely has humidity but has one heck of a music scene for my Grammy Award Winning friend. You see, back in the day ND and I was sporting UFF DA shirts in support of our band. I moved out to sea, and he moved to Nashville. He didn’t waste anytime networking his way to the top. I have to give it to the guy. I was in the military and I still didn’t work the kind of shifts that he did. He has seriously busted his butt! Nowadays he’s doing more of the mastering thing and breaking his way into the industry as a writer. In 2010 he was nominated for another Grammy Award. Hard work pays off for good people who keep their mind right. Once again, Chattanooga Tn. boys are rocking Cali! Make sure to check out his website http://www.thehitlab.com/

I’m sitting here listening to Dr. John from New Orleans and reading all these post about the new weapon from China. (Dong Feng 21A) It’s pretty amazing if you think about it. I also find it interesting that we react as if the blindfold has been removed from our eyes and we finally realized that there is someone else out there with enough money and determination to create such a powerful weapon. Having served on an Aircraft Carrier,.. this is a scary thought. Something like 900 mile range?? Just saying,..
